We have been getting a lot of messages asking what do we think is the best DnB software. As I have written previously with the Dubstep music section, this all depends on your level of experience. Depending on what you read, you will get conflicting opinions on what the best platform to engage in making D and B is, and this can confusing.
I will explain it again here, though the best Drum&Bass sequencer is the same as what I believe to be the most suitable applications for producing Dubstep music. If you want more details that relate directly to the product itself, please click HOME, or just CLICK HERE.
If you are new to beat programming:
DUBTURBO
This platform is by far the best way to become proficient in drum programming and will get you prepared to move onto the next level, if you are thinking of making some money by selling your beats online.
Available for INSTANT DOWNLOAD, this program is great for all genres. When you have completed a new beat, all can be exported to MP3s so you can listen to your beats anywhere. The loops and drum sounds that come standard are all of great quality, and should you require more sounds, they can simply be downloaded from the Dubturbo website.
Dubturbo is compatible with PC and MAC so don’t worry about what operating system you are running. You do not need any hardware as this program is a stand-alone studio, in that it is all on screen actions.
If you are familiar with drum sequencing:
REASON 5
Reason is the popular alternative to Fruity Loops FL studio. So many people are making beats on FL, though it is nowhere near as user friendly as Dubturbo for beginners, and is nowhere near as capable as Propellerhead’s Reason 5 for making all genres of music on an intermediate level.
This package must be purchased and will be sent to you as a software package with CDs and original books etc. There are a multitude of amazing synths, instruments, drum sounds and plugins that come standard, though will take some time to learn how to utilize properly.
The only let-down with Reason 5 is that is not a great program to mix and master a release-quality track, or for recording vocals. Which brings me to the next system:
If you are ready for a professional application:
Logic Studio
Logic studio is a Mac only program and is the choice of many professional producers and DJs. (Anyone who is serious about making a living in a field which requires a computer, will engage a MAC).
This program is compatible with all popular hardware and is a highly capable studio system, which is also great for mixing and mastering release-quality songs. Should you wish to add live instruments and vocals then Logic is the choice for you.
