Dubstep music producer and DJ “Benga” hails from South London, being one of the pioneering Dubstep DJs in existence. Smashing out amazing music since the tender age of fourteen, his experience and ear for unique frequency variation will never be replicated.

In the company of fellow DJ Skream, with whom he has been close friends with throughout their childhood, Benga changed the face of underground dance music and imprinted the Dubstep brand into the commercial world, albeit unintentionally.

A very talented and diverse producer, who’s sound has changed and moved with the times since his public inception over ten years ago. Know for using live drums and some of the heaviest bass around, Bega has collaborated with some amazing vocalists, giving him an unrivalled sound that millions are loving.

In conjunction with other Dubstep producers Artwork and Skream, the unstoppable super producer group Magnetic Man was formed. These guys have created some seriously powerful tracks, which are some of my personal favourites.

So in this little post, I wanted to pay homage to some of the best Benga tracks, that I believed to be the most influential, not to mentioned my personal favourites. Please enjoy the following videos:

SKANK

Lifted form his debut EP at age fifteen, this track simply can’t be overlooked in this collection. The now generic sounds and hard bass is the true essence of dubstep fundamentals.

DOSE

Ok, I wasn’t going to do it, but I had to throw Dose in there to give you the full picture. This track starting off slower, moving into flat-out breakbeat chorus. Already using some cool samples while maintain that Benga Bass, you gotta love this beat.

26 BASS LINES

Skipping forward a few years, 26 Bass lines is just a wicked track, what can I say. The psycho synths in the middle breakdown leading back into final third blew my mind the first time I heard it. This track was incredibly popular, and for good reason…

CRUNKED UP

THis track has some of the best Dubstep melodies that I have ever heard. And seriously, without melody, this Genre would have faded out by now. Not to say that it needs to go down the track of pop music, and far from it, but this particular song exhibits Benga musicality and diversity. Pump it!

NIGHT

An uneatable collaboration with Coki from other Dubstep heavyweights Digital Mystiks, this was massive and is always in regular rotation in any Dubstep DJs set.

KATY ON A MISSION

A track produced by Benga, featuring the intoxicating vocals of Katy B, this song has truly displayed the modern popularity and power of Dubstep. Oh how far we have come.

These are just a few of Bengas awesome tracks, and this is only my opinion. Please feel free to leave a positive comment or discussion on my selections. However, you will need to enter some details, as this site is riddles with S to the P amers. Peace out.
